The ideal lighting in saunas is non-glare and can be varied with ceiling lights (f. ex. out of ceramic or glass) or wall lights (f. ex. with splint fittings) or a combination of both. When choosing energy efficient lamps, the most important criteria are heat- and humidity resistance.
Effect illumination (f. ex. Starry skies, disco lights etc.) are additional installations according to taste. In general however, sauna illumination should be considered as a relaxing factor of atmosphere or coloured light therapy, a dimmer switch is therefore a perfect solution for all users:
- One-touch control panel
- Modern electronic control
- Remote control unit
In most cases, the cabins are being delivered and installed by manufacturers including basic illumination.
Optical fibre

Optical fibres made from glass or synthetic material are very popular in saunas, infrared cabins and steam baths as they are the perfect solution for illumination (if made from glass: ca.180°C heat resistance, if made from synthetic material: ca. 80 °C). There is virtually no decorative limit to the whereabouts of their installation.
