Sauna heaters
The sauna heater is the heart and heat generator of the sauna. Today, energy-efficient electric ovens (time to heat up ca. 1 hour) are being used in most cases, in garden saunas however, tradition is being celebrated with rustic wood ovens. Oil- or gas ovens offer alternatives, therefore however a chimney device is needed.
The capacity of the heater should be calculated to about 1 kilowatt per cubic meter of space. In larger installations, the calculation is qualified. Installation should always be carried out by an expert.
For the casing of the heater, you can choose from materials such as wood, ceramic and stainless steal. The important factor is that the radiation heat does not warm up the casing too strongly in order to avoid burns on the skin.
The location in most cases is chosen next to a wall or in the centre of a room. For small cabins, an apparatus situated below the benches is an ideal solution.
In the centre of the heater there is a rust-free steel container to be filled up with sauna stones for later sprinkling. The heating rods used in the heater should be replaceable.

Fire protection
The most frequent reason for fires in sauna cabins are objects placed on the heater. A hint: Put up a safety grid or install a touch-sensitive circuit-breaker.

Modern Electronics
Infrared cabins are heated by surface radiators for which a simple socket is a sufficient power connection in the classical case. Surface radiators can be installed practically everywhere inside the cabin, there is virtully no danger of burns.
A steam bath is also heated by the connection to the electric terminal box via the vaporizer and control.
