Many people would love a sauna within their home, but often the costs are decisive for a positive result. The market has been reacting to this fact a while ago and offers an opportunity for those potential buyers with a little technical talent to construct a sauna themselves with a DIY-kit.
The precursor of this subject were the many DIY-markets. They had already introduced prefabricated sauna cabins which consisted of a few single elements to the sauna fan and made possible a relatively cheap choice of products. In the meantime, specialized expert stores have taken up this trend and announced individual saunas for self-construction.
The individual DIY-kit
Modern DIY-kits allow for detailed planning, the exchange of spare parts, possible fittings into pitched roof areas or low cellar rooms, demand-orientated choice of equipment and much more. They can be purchased for the panel-for-panel-technique as well as in generously prefabricated complete parts.
Quality and prices
For a complete DIY-kit (prefabricated-sauna cabin without exchange) the prices start at about 1,000 - 1,500 Euros. The quality of all parts should be closely observed as well as possible examples for reference. For construction, a possible time factor of on average 2 - 3 days should be expected. The preconditions are a sufficient electricity- and water supply as well as suitable space.
